Anyone have any comments on thumbnail size since the move? They are no longer being cropped but can end up a bit wide for small screens as a result. sharkboi wrote: My first wish is having more than 3 thumbs across... I thought at first reducing thumbs height from 120 to 110px would solve the problem however, it would only be a solution for landscape images. Portrait thumbnails in a post like this would end up too small, which would be a shame. viewtopic.php?f=75&t=18814&view=unread#p505136The only other thing to do is detect landscape images and crop their sides a little so it's not as wide. Thoughts?

Thoughts? Can a maximun thumb width be set? that wouldn't affect portrait thumbs. Also, could the fact that thumbs have a shadow be a cause of only 3 across, by pushing them apart more?

Not easily, but even if you did, you would want to preserve image ratio (prevent squashed and pinched appearance), which means you must reduce it's height as well. This would make them look very uneven on the page (which would be much worse).

It's not the browser, it is the screen size that matters. Sharkboi's screen resolution is 1280x768 and pce229073's is 1354x779, so he can fit more on his screen.
Question is, where do we stop? About 30% of visitors use tablets which have an even smaller screensize, so for some of them it may only be 2 thumbs per row.
