Post subject: | What's a good capping setup for Windows 7? |
A few weeks ago my old computer blew up. Rather than try and fix it, I decided to take the opportunity to upgrade to the latest spec. With the O/S upgrade from XP to Win7, I have had heaps of trouble with my old Winfast PVR software. I've had a look at Media Centre and it seems quite inflexible for the purposes of capping. So my question is, what's a good capping setup for Windows 7? I am using a USB tuner at the moment, should I get a tuner card? Which one? etc... Any help would be appreciated. |

Thanks for the reply. My issue is a bit different to the thread you linked to though. Taking caps of shows is no problem, I use VirtualDub to resize and tweak the images and delete all the scenes which aren't worth considering for caps, then I use IrfanView to skim through the exported image sequence form VirtualDub and pick the best frames. This all works fine. My issue is that my PVR software keeps locking up. I have it set up to record a schedule of different channels at different times of the day just like I used to have it setup in XP, but the PVR is skipping alot of stuff becase it's not working properly under Windows 7. Anyway, I'm sure I'll work something out. I was just prompted to post this thread last night because Suzie Raines was looking particularly vampish last night but I didn't get to cap her because of these problems. Que Sera |
