with all the heat your PC has had to endure do you run it with the side off for extra ventilation ? have you got speed fan or similar to shut down a drive when it reaches hot .. but not destructive temperatures ? some hard drives hate heat & die.. others do not mind it ( i have lost all maxtors during 40+ days ) 2 seagates also when hot & power fail while writing vids. my Western Digitals seem bulletproof ..until the bearing goes then do not spin up any more. Dick Smith & Officeworks sell 1TB 1000GB external drives for $130 approx = well worth having independant treasures backed up & safe being away from crazy motherboard / software issues

Thanks in advance For God's sake - don't format F: drive, just because it doesn't show up, that will more than likely erase your data forever! Get some more advice before doing anything to that drive (since it is the most important one). Is that entire HDD taken up by F: drive? If not, can you see the other drives on that HDD? If your "comp has gone mad", it sounds like this is only one of a number of problems you have, and you might have copped a nasty infection.

I did not format F: (AS it has disappeared somewhere) or E: just C: which has all my big programs on it the format went well and fixed a few bugs but still no F:. Yes I can see the other 2 HDD and they’re working well now.

Go into BIOS before the computer starts up, and see if the drive shows up in there. If it doesn't, there's every chance that drive is gone. Short of a bad power or data connection, you have to assume that the drive is faulty. But if it does appear in there, then your Windows is to blame. Replace Windows with something else

Wolverine's right: Check if the drive is recognised in BIOS. But first, check if you can see the disk under Computer Management (like Crashdown's screenshot above). From what you say, you should have Disk 0, Disk1, and Disk 2. If no Disk 2, then check BIOS. wolverine wrote: Short of a bad power or data connection, you have to assume that the drive is faulty. Wolverine's got a good point there. Check the HDD power and data cables. (maybe something worked its way loose?) If none of that works, things will not be looking so good. If you can see the Disk, then maybe the Partition on that Disk is recoverable.

Bluey you need to work out if it is a physical or software issue. So if you checked the cables & still no F shown in Computer Management or Bios ... try using the power & data cable, that you know works on another drive.
If the drive then comes good in that position then it may just be a dodgey cable .. or slot position issue .
If the drive still does not power up then Hard Drive is dead.
If you can feel it powering up then it may just be some sort of MFT ( Master File Table ) issue .. quite common with NTFS becomming corrupt & outside of Disk Check scope= expensive data recovery process or lose all with a re format.

No F: drive in BIOS, the F:HDD is a 120GIG (No partition) that was installed about a year ago, my last attempt is to open my comp and check all the cables PS: The only good news is my C: and E: drive work perfectly and they are partitioned on a 80GIG drive
