Bluey i am on 240 per week Jobsearch but no rent assisance due to the others in the house .. my rent is $105 + bills = forget an old school 160GB or 200GB drive & save up for a external 1000GB = $130-140. probably a lot less than getting stuff fixed.
Unless you know someone, retreiving data is soo expensive = recent quotes to get back many treasures on my dead / corrupted partition - MFT Hard Drives are 80- 300 ea = now i just duplicate anything i want over the 1TB drives ( i am up to 3 of the buggers now ) & no issues like before thank goodness.

I have two 500gig usb drives and one 1Tb usb drive, all from Officeworks, they have them for around $150.
They are plugged in to the usb ports and only ever get turned on once every few days to back stuff up that has been downloaded.
I figure the less they are turned on and used the longer they will last, I've lost too much stuff in the last few years that I will never be able to find again.

Ok I looked around just for a little while and found a WD 1000GIG External HDD $149 at the “Office Works” in Adelaide. I think that is the best way to go. Thanks for all your advice very much appreciated again to one and all :ohyes:
