Wow what a great response to a debate. Send me a weird PM with homosexual undertones and then spew out this nonsense.
Guess that's what you get when you lose the argument and have nothing left in the tank to elucidate with.

The only thing I can think of what be to have some kind of bill passed where it was stated a major party can appoint a new leader only when they are in opposition. I think something like that may leave us open to even bigger problems in the future. I think, in the event of a successful leadership challenge for PM, calling a general election to have the Australian people say whether or not they support this action (as they have just done) is probably a better way... I suspect we will one day see a bill that allows us to vote for the country's leader. It will be delivered via referendum for Australian republic.. That would only replace the Governor-General with an elected President as the head of state, who would have no more power than the current GG and would be largely ceremonial. Prime Ministers or the equivalent head of government are not elected in parliamentary republics either (e.g. Germany, Finland, Ireland). The last thing we want is a presidential republic like the USA where the head of state and head of government are the same person.

I do fear however that those among us that don't understand the difference will make the decision for us. My reasoning is that referendums are difficult to pass at the best of times, let alone when people think that somehow they are getting "cheated" out of being able the choose the head of state. So we may end up with proposal for presidential republic as a compromise for republic at any cost.

I stood corrected Nub. Clearly your one eye doesn't assist you at all with comprehension. All I see here is a Homophobic Labor Man trying to make himself look smarter with big words that half the folk here would have to look up. Bravo Tall Poppy, Bravo. Clearly you get lost in your own arguements. You make as much sense as Bob Brown. But then again, you guys are greasing his dick anyway. As I said, go get a life Tiger. xxx
