I am looking for some video editing software.
The most important criteria for me is: 1 - Can easily split large (multi GB) files into small clips. 2- Is free
I have noticed that some of you guys have hosted multi-part videos on other hosts. Did you make them? If so, what software did you use?
Any advice would be appreciated.

You could try the torrent sites for a cracked version of U-Lead. That's what I used to make my YouTube vids...

(because I have a copy of that which came bundled with my PC) P.S - thank you for not suggesting I could use your crack

Rather than looking for illegal software, why not just use the open source alternatives? Have a look at Avidemux.

Yeah, I tried Avidemux & thought it was horrible & got ride of it 24 hours later. Yes, I do mean U-Lead Video Studio. Unfortunately, I no longer have the crack that I used for my U-Lead but it's a version that was released a couple of years ago so it'd probably be quite unlikely you'd have the right version for that crack anyway. Just keep checking the torrent sites. I'm sure a reasonably recent version will pop up. There was another one called Camtasia or something that was on torrent with a crack. It wasn't as good as U-Lead but I used it for one of my YouTube videos. Footz downloaded it too & played around with it more than me so he could probably tell you more. failing all that, there's always Windows Movie Maker. Some people have had some success with it... apparently...

i deleted camtasia quick smart .. was not really very friendly to use & downgraded original quality, did not have crack so did not wait for the 30 days trail to end.
