Doggies have locked-in the minor premiership, so a practice round match next week against a very desperate North side, then a nice long weeks rest in the first week of the finals!

Can't wait !

Practice matches can be very dangerous, you only just beat North at the Ponderosa earlier in the year and then North touched you well and truly up at Prospect. North are playing for a spot in the 5 so dont come out to cock oh hoop so to speak

Not bored of it because finally the doggies arch rivals The Eagles are back in big one.

Doggies own them for the shocking 06 Grand Final thrashing they gave them in their last GF appearance, theres nothing better after watching a good old Central/Eagles game. Any Tips ?

A good result! I wanted the Eagles to win for two reasons:

1) I don't like Norwood (no disrespect to Basset of course).

2) Norwood have had enough chances to beat Centrals & just cannot do it.

I think Centrals would've preferred to be playing Norwood, being a team they know they can beat in a dozen different ways, rather than a side who seem to be playing the wild card...

Ok, I got a little too far ahead of myself, they were due to lose one, today they were slow, made too many mistakes, and missed opportunites, I've never experienced just a close GF Loss before, i'm devastated, but full credit to The Eagles, they were the better team, but doggies deserve a pat on the back, of coming from 28 points to 3 points and do have 12 consecutive GFs to their name.

Sooooo got a very long hot summer to get thur now, no chimery unvieling this year, but in 1999 if I asked for 9 flags by 2011, I would of been the laughing stock in town,

Never say their reign is over, they still the toughest team in the competition, just had a rough day, unlike The Eagles who never seem to be able to keep their form and team together after winning a flag the previous year. :cofee:

Fantastic game, fantastic result! This is what GF football should be like!

And it'll be nice to see some different colours painted on the brewery chimney.

We saw Eagles colours in 2006 also.

Today at work, some Eagles supporters got a short memory thinking they are only team to have beaten doggies twice in a GF. (umm Port 95 and 96 ring a bell?)

People blame the doggies of ruining the SANFL competion with their top performances over the years, but imagine if it was dominated by The Eagles with their much smaller supporting base.
