Jeff Farmer was a bloody good player but his disciplinary left a bit to be desired.
Highest amount of career goals for an indiginous player.
1500 games of experience now gone from the club with all the retirements.
We were the oldest club. Not any more.
He was a great player and as for the off field dramas it happens at every club but the others just do a better job of covering things up. He could have easily played another one or two years and I'm suprised he isn't going to nominate for the pre season draft because a top club could do worse than to pick up a dangerous player to put the icing on the cake like hawthorn did with dew.

Well deserved.
Quote: FREMANTLE Docker Rhys Palmer is the AFL's 2008 NAB Rising Star.
He joins Brownlow medallists Ben Cousins, Adam Goodes and Nathan Buckley as young talent to win the prestigious award.
Palmer polled 44 votes, seven clear of Hawthorn forward Cyril Rioli.
Richmond midfielder Trent Cotchin was third on 21 votes.
Palmer, 19, made his AFL debut in round two and finished the season with 20 games and 10 goals.
Palmer was on crutches at this afternoon's award ceremony after hurting his ankle during Friday night's upset win over Collingwood.

He has been told that he will not be offerend a new contract so another 1 gone.
Also the Dockers want to pick Natanui with their 3rd draft pick but WCE have advised their board members to endorse him as their 2nd pic after originally wanting midfielder Rich.
So the draft looks like Melb will pick Watts, WCE will pick Natanui and Freo will pick Rich.
I want Natanui if the Dockers lose Warnock as we will be short of ruckmen but WCEs tanking season will get him before us. We need midfielders as well so Rich will be an excellent pickup though.

There a rumours going around that melbourne are going to pick watts and fremantle and west coast both want rich, but the catch is fremantle are offering melbourne a later draft pick plus pick 3 for pick 1. Because melbourne are going to get watts no matter what it doesn't matter for them if they have pick 1 or 3 so when the deal is done it will see fremantle get rich with pick 1 and wesc coast have to get their second priority which is nitaniou and melbourne will then use number 3 to get the only player they have had in their sites watts.
It will be some small justice against those cheating eagles and pathetic coach worsfold for not trying at the end of the season.

Don't have a problem with this also. Makes more sense than bringing in 2 new teams - putting more pressure on existing ones.

Doesn't Mark Harvey look like an idiot. He said before round 1 that the kids weren't ready to play and put up a 'really old' side against Collingwood - that got flogged.
Media pressure (and perhaps internal pressure) made him play some kids. Low and behold, one of them wins the NAB rising star award and ends up being their best midfielder.
I suggest that by round 14 next year, if the Dockers aren't at least on a 50% win ratio, Harvey will get the flick. There's too much talent in that team to waste.

Well it was his 1st season as full time coach so no doubt he learnt by his mistakes.
In saying that he has always said he wants to prolong the young guys careers by not throwing them in too early and too much so they can ease their way into the fast game it is now. Also since Ostitis Pubis is so easily got these days it was a good way of trying to protect them from it. Look at Palmer, he had it before he started his AFl career so he has to look after himself.
Just like Masten from the WCE who only played minimal games this season after getting it.

Harvey I think is an assistant coach nothing else. Even though bailey from melbourne had a shocking season he stuck by his word from day one with playing the kids while harvey seemed to chop and change throughout the season between young and old and did bow to the media pressure.

Big story around Adelaide at the minute is former Crow and current North Adelaide League coach Andrew Jarman is being sought as a midfield coach for the Dockers next year.
