 Stupid AFL decisions

Can somebody explain to me why the Cats will play the Swans at the MCG (with a capacity of 100,000+), whilst the Giants will play the Bulldogs at Spotless Stadium (with a capacity of only 24,000)?

60,000 people watched the Giants play the Swans, and the Bulldogs have over 40,000 fans! If tickets were issued evenly only about 1 Bulldog fan in 4 would get a ticket, and only 12,000 tickets would be left for a city of over 4 million people. I'm not sure how many Giants fans/Sydney-siders would turn up, but surely the game should be held at the SCG or ANZ Stadium. Don't the AFL want to expand the game in NSW?

Makes no fuckin' sense to me.

They should either both be at the home team's Ground (Simonds and Spotless) or both at venues with highest capacity (MCG and ANZ/SCG), having one and not the other makes no sense, as you said.

:???:

The Giants deserved their home final.
The Cats should have it at Simonds.
The AFL have an agreement where 1 final per round needs to be played at the G.

Ok, I can understand that to a degree; but having a final at a ground that only has 24K capacity is absolutely stupid.
It makes me think that the AFL couldn't give a fuck about the teams involved, or growing the game, they only care about the money they will make from the TV rights.

TV rights and advertising make a lot more money than gate receipts and food sales.
I like the idea of Spotless Stadium, will basically be a huge game played at a local footy ground - awesome atmosphere!
For the AFL, it's also about having an even crowd for their little lovechild, 24,000 capacity, 8000 Bulldogs, 8000 GWS, 8000 Corporates

I was under the impression that it wasn't played at simmonds due to renovations taking place at the moment
