I think there is a fair amount of water loss in that - I had a high salt diet, giving up the salt probably accounts for half that!

Well done matey, like the style you put your weight up think I will do the same :)

Well got up at 7am done the deed and weighed myself and to start the games off I came in at a whopping 108kg or 17.00 stone (Have a nifty little converter to work it out). Got troubles today tho my best mate is coming over for the day. We use to have a drinking session that goes on all day and night. So I have to sit there and watch him drink :drunk: bugger. O well we will see how it all goes :mrhappy:

Well my mate has gone home. I just about cracked when he asked what I wanted to drink down at the Bottle shop. I said nothing thanks, I couldn’t believe those words came out of my mouth. So we chatted all day (About7 hours) he was drinking his Strongbow Draught and I was drinking my tasty watered down Raspberry Cordial. God it was tempting just to have one drink, but if I did have one I knew I would be straight down the Bottle shop to get a slab of beer. Now into my 14th week without a alcoholic drink. It feels great most of the time. But I want to break my record of 19 weeks without an alcoholic drink.
Cheer all have one for me
:drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk:

I gave up drinking around 1989. I was living in Barcaldine at the time (a small town 100k south of Longreach), population 1500, 6 pubs 2 clubs all doing a roaring trade.

I saved $10000 the first year I gave up the grog. Thats what it had been costing me a week in "expenses", and in those days a 10oz beer was 63 cents over the bar! Living in the single mens quarters meant a party nearly every night. I was not an alcoholic, but I musta been getting close!

At first I tried cutting back, low alcohol beer was just coming out, I was trying to drink a brew called "Swan Light", with some micro amount of alcohol that Allan Bond was flogging at the time. I distinctly remember going on a weekends piggin trip and taking three cartons of it. The first night I drank 24 cans and did not even get a buzz, I felt so bloated, and the next day I was sicker than I had ever been when on the grog.

So then I tried drinking coke to match my mates beer intake. Believe me I have never been sicker in my life than a night after drinking 30 odd cans of coke!

Even 16 years after my last drink, sometimes I want a 4X bitter so bad I can smell it and taste it!

MMMMMM XXXX Bitter. My Football (Not Soccer WD) season starts this week, and I have been toying with the idea of giving up the grog for a few weeks. I don't seem to have the pace I thought I had last season, and I also want to save some money for a holiday. My car needs fixing too! (Not alcohol related) Savouring the last 2 stubbies in my fridge after training as I write this. Let you know how I go.

Well made my World Famous Vegie Spag Bolognese yesterday. Made enough for five meals. Didn’t taste too bad either. Ingredients 1 Dolmio classic mushroom sauce $2, 500gm of home brand pasta $1, 300gm sliced champignons home brand 40cents, bit of garlic salt 2cents and a bit of hot chilli powder 3cent cooking about 5 cents. So it cost me $3:50 for 5 fairly large meals 70cents per meal great value. So saving on food bill as well now. Just thought you would like this bit of trivial news.
