water is the key in most cases.... you've gotta drink shitloads of it.
if your not drinking enough your body will hold on to every bit it can.

Well this morning I weighed myself and I was just under 107 1/2kgs so hopefully it is a good sign to come. Man the treadmill is something I am coming to rely on. Also I have started to do 2 sets of cruches after the treadmill of 35 cruches (I used to do like 500-1000 a night before I hurt my back).

My back is just so sore atm I havent been on the treadmill for the last 3 days. I just cant get comfortable.

I am continuing my good eating habits though. I am just going between 107.5 and 108.5 kgs and just not moving.

I had a shock last night. I weighed myself after my shower and it said 110kgs. I had stir fry and rice for dinner do I could only assume the white rice expanded in my stomach and weighed me down. Right???

This morning I was just under 108kgs.

This is frustrating me.

Hey Djmenow,

I have a cardio suggestion for you. If there's one available, try a recumbant bike. You sit in a position that I think would be easy on your back, and depending on the setting / program you use can burn off heaps of calories at a time. Friendly on knee joints too.

I've been on a weight loss program since Jan this year and have gone from 105kgs to 81 kgs through sensible (not always healthy LOL) eating and steady exercise. I feel great and hope to finish at around 78kgs.

That's pretty impressive, Fozzy. Well done.

dj, best thing to do regarding weighing yourself is to do it first thing in the morning. But only weigh yourself once a week or so. I know your back restricts you a lot, but you should be trying to get some variety into your exercise, not relying solely on the exercise bike. Try some skipping - we've been doing this in between our circuit training. It really takes it out of you. I reached 100 consecutive skips this morning, after being unable to do 10 a couple of weeks ago.

You know how you and someone else both said above you can't get rid of the bit around the middle? Its a good chance you don't have as much fat there as you think but have a lot of shit (LITERALLY!!) stuck in your intestines. A 2 week detox through your local naturopath would help immensely ... & by the second week your poo will look like koala poo!!! lots of little black pebbles stuck together - the result of years of junk food build up. MMMMMM YUMMY!!! hehehehhehehe

I'm 176 cm (5'10") and have been as low as 56kg over the past 2 years, and the only time i haven't had some kind of bulging around the guts is after detoxing & eating SUPER healthy & doing yoga & massaging my guts.

You also mentioned soft drinks are your vice ... you have to find a way to get over that. Soft drinks are not only giving you excess sugar for your body to burn (before it can get to burning fat) but you also could be irritating your bowel further with too many soda's. The bubbles mess with the digestive acids in some people with weak digestion like us ...

Look at it this way ... if you can find a diet that you can eat 99% of the time, you can strenghten your system to the point that you could be able to occasionally eat & drink some things without major reactions.

A few other points to try to help increase your metabolism ...

1) Drink a shot of lemon juice & water first thing each morning before any meals. Do some light stretching & you'll be hungry within 20 minutes. Your metabolism has been kick started!
2) Don't eat carbs after 3pm
3) Don't eat anything 3 hours before bed
4) NO SOFT DRINK!! ;p



Would anyone be interested in having some personal trainers & diet professionals around here to answer these types of questions?

Well nearly a month in and lost around 1 1/2 - 2kgs. Running better on the treadmill.

I would have preferred to have lost more but it is a start.

Havent eaten much over the last 2 days. Have a middle ear infection resulting in my hunger gone and alot of nausea. Had a tooth out today and so I have had really nothing to eat today as well.

I am down to 107kgs thus far.

Just be wary of weight lost when you are crook, because you usually put it straight back on. Also, go easy on the exercise when crook, as it will take you longer to get better. Just common sense stuff really.

Sounds like you're well on the way - great stuff!! It's amazing how much more energy you get when you gain a bit of fitness. I used to hit a wall at work at around 3.00pm, but after joining the gym can power through the day.

Man sometimes it is hard to stay motivated when you are not losing anything and you are trying so hard.

I am still around the 107-108kg mark. I am running for approx 20 min utes on the treadmill 4 times a week. I am eating/drinking about 2500 cal a day (which I hear is pretty good and that is with eating any shit food I am).

I just want to see some results. Clothes are still not any looser.
