Recently saw Killing Heidi, on their "20 year" tour (Brisbane, at the Tivoli). knew this most likely wouldn't happen again, so I purchased the meet and great package. for some strange reason, the meet and greet was just Ella and Jesse, although I wasn't complaining. I watched all the guys in line before me, and they all gave ella a hug. so I shook Jesse's hand, shook Ella's and then went in for a hug:) During the hug she said "how are you?" and I'm like "great! how are you?" I mentioned that I played guitar, and asked if either of them had a pick, none of them did. Ella said "see our roadie! he will give you one" we had a quick chat about trailer Park boys, and then I went on my way. They had a professional photographer there to take my photo, which I have blown up to a 8X10. because we were VIP's we didn't have to leave the venue, so I instantly got front row for the concert. it was honestly the best concert I have ever been to, and I have been to best part of a dozen. I have never seen a band play with so much energy and Ella's vocals were pristine, her voice truly has gotten better with age. At the end of the concert, I yelled out to Jesse for a guitar pick, and he bent down after the crowds applause and put it straight in my hand. I just wished I got that on video:( Stupid me, left the barrier for about 20 seconds and missed out on "afterparty" passes, the 2 girls I was standing with said "I feel so sorry for you" . I am seeing them again in Ipswich, so I will make sure I get front row this time. Ella and Jesse were so friendly . Ella was even more beautiful looking in person, although I was surprised by how short she is (about 5 ft 2.) I didn't get the afterparty passes, but I did get to hug and have a chat with the lady I had a huge crush on since I was a teenager. I forgot to tell her how much I love her voice, I was just too caught up in the moment. If anyone gets a chance, see KH on their regional tour; you will not be disappointed! |
