The Gingers are a Melbourne based punk rock band.
Forming the band after Falls Festival 2004, it took The Gingers just over a month to write their first set, playing their first ever show at The Tote with The Turbo AC's in February 2005.
The Gingers have supported bands like Ropeburning, Pennywise, Hoobastank, The Queers, Against Me!, Grinspoon and have toured with Butterfingers, Ground components, The Goons of Doom, The Go Set, This War & More. The Gingers also started 2007 off by playing Peaches & Cream Festival and the Big Day Out in Melbourne.
The Gingers signed to Illicit Records in 2005, and in 2006 released their debut EP "Love You Long Time". Touring the east coast non stop in support of the EP, The Gingers also appeared on CD:Live. Their film clip for the song 'Evening Rose' was played on Channel V, Video Hits and Rage, with the song also being played on JJJ, Nova & Community Radio. 'Evening Rose' was used in an advertisement for Jay Jay's.
2007 The Gingers released split cd 'Giant Panda' with sydney surf rock band The Goons of Doom. The CD came free with Waves Magazine across Australia and was available on a split tour between the bands which hit Australia's East Coast.
In 2008 The Gingers supported Juliette Lewis and The Licks as well as recording a new EP with Indra Adams of Ground components. The EP is currently unreleased.
