Quote: ROSS McRAE, The West Australian \ \Natalia Cooper has landed a plum new news role since moving to Sydney at the end of last year.
The former Seven weather presenter has been signed to Nine and will make her first broadcast this afternoon.
Cooper confirmed to thewest.com.au this afternoon that she had taken the role.
"Natalia Cooper back on Nine. First story on new 3.00pm News on WIN/Nine. Welcome back to where you belong. Our gain Seven's loss. #ninenews (sic)," Stewart Richmond, network director of News for WIN Network, tweeted today.
Since 2009, Cooper was an integral part of Seven News, Perth's number one TV news show, filling the big shoes of Jeff Newman as the State's most recognisable weather presenter.
With the addition of helming the new local 4.30pm news bulletin earlier this year, Cooper, 27, realised she wanted to get more involved in high-profile news and current affairs.
"The timing felt right for me. I am just looking for a new and different challenge in my career, I just want to push myself and see what other opportunities are out there," Cooper told AAA last year about the decision to leave Perth.
"A lot of television and news-based programs are based out of Sydney so it seemed to be the right place to go. I am in negotiations and discussions (about a job) and feeling really positive about the future and whatever comes my way."
Cooper's last Seven Perth broadcast was on November 30, which she said was going to be a bittersweet moment.
"I love Perth and it will always be my home but I feel like I need to give this a go — it is now or never."
Cooper made the move to Sydney with her musician boyfriend Carl Fox.
"He has been really supportive and he is looking forward to the change as well. He is an audio engineer so there are plenty of work opportunities for him over there as well," she said. "We are going together and it is really important that we make the move together."

I have quite a lot of Natalia Cooper from approximately 2005-6 until recently. All videos of her reading the weather, a few news reporting. Even if i recall correctly a nice nippy one... She looked great back then. Just need to know how i can cap them. :)

They are on a Pioneer hard drive recorder. I can burn them to a DVD with it. Some may already be on a DVD i think.
