Quote:
Born and bred in Melbourne, Justine MacKenzie graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Deakin University and followed it up with post graduate studies in Journalism.

Her first job was with Channel 31’s CNews news and current affairs program.

After a brief stint dabbling in radio news, Justine moved from Melbourne to Shepparton to join the WIN News team.

Embracing the tree change, Justine spent a year in Shepparton, covering everything from police to politics, court to colour, together with a broad mix of rural and local issues.

While at WIN, Justine covered the Brumby government's announcement of the controversial North- South Pipeline and the mass protests that followed. She also reported extensively on the 2007 federal election campaign, with a focus on how policies would affect regional voters.

After a year in Shepparton, Justine was called to work at WIN headquarters in Ballarat where, in addition to filing daily reports, she presented updates for all six WIN News markets. She also worked as a fill-in newsreader, delivering the news of the day to hundreds of thousands of viewers across regional Victoria.

Additional responsibilities at WIN included producing news bulletins and helping out on the Chief-of-Staff desk.

Major stories Justine covered at WIN HQ included the state budgets, the Bushfire Royal Commission, mass job losses at Ballarat's John Valves Foundry, the Brumby government's investigation into Ballarat City Council and the trial of former TV producer Gavan Disney.

Justine joined Nine’s Melbourne news team in November of 2009. When not working, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends.
