Yes, it allows you to transfer files to the usb for later use on that particular machine. You can't cap from it on a PC unfortunately because the file is locked to the machine it was recorded on. That is, unless your machine has no DRM operating...

Topfield files play on PC using VLC or SM player or Power DVD . VLC wil play files from Strong or Dgtec boxes. Humax must be different again.
