No matter our age, our height or the size on our jeans; the width of our waist, the brightness of our smile or the compliments we receive. No matter the facets that piece our beauty together, no matter the vessel we are gifted. No matter how we came to be, each and every one of us has a story. A path that led us to where we stand, moments that defined our being, and choices that saw our characters born. We all have a story; this is Renee’s.

Age twenty-two and standing at 5’10 tall, there is no question that Renee Somerfield has been born with the makings of a beautiful model. With her big green eyes, blonde cascading hair and that huge contagious smile, Somerfield has taken the fashion industry by storm – fortunately with no casualties. Due to her typical Australian upbringing, she is described as being down to earth and the girl next door, a rarity in this business. But don't let this nice demeanor fool you. No, nice she might be, but, with an extensive list of impressive achievements to her name, this girl is definitely not your average next-door neighbour.

Having always loved performing, whether it be in front of a camera or a mirror, Somerfield has forever had a passion for all things fun. With this sunny attitude and her sheer determination, she has carved out a successful career thus far as an internationally recognised and published model, no easy feat. Featured in a number of both Australian and International magazines, Somerfield is a face that the world should be getting used to. It is after all, one that is often found adorning large in store posters for the likes of Stelly Clothing, Blockout Clothing, Y-London, Abyss By Abby and Amy Taylor, to name a few. But it doesn't end there. Shopping online? You’ll be sure to spot Somerfield affiliated with labels such as Veve Glamour Swimwear, and effortlessly selling the clothes off her back with the simple click of an instagram post. With 300,000+ followers and counting, this girl has some serious hold in the fashion industry. If these outstanding relationships with powerful brands were not enough, Somerfield has also landed herself regular appearances on the runway for prestigious names including Camilla, Pleasure State Lingerie, and the one and only, Alex Perry.

Asked to describe the highlights of where she is today, Renee says, “Being a model allows you to express yourself…playing different characters. The best part of being a model is the opportunity to meet and work with amazing people…and most importantly, use your status to reach out and influence others.” And influence others she does. Openly involved with countless animal rights organisations, Somerfield uses her name to bring attention to important world issues. A vegan by choice, Somerfield fronted the LUSH Cosmetics “Divine Whale” campaign, raising money for Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, and continues to post encouragement and further collaborations with similar unions via social media. As something that is obviously held very close to her heart, raising awareness and acting as an Animal Rights Advocate is a responsibility that has and always will, have a huge significance in her life. Somerfield is not simply a model, but a well respected role model.

As of 2013, Somerfield has only had a few years in the professional modeling industry. This short amount of time has certainly not downplayed her huge impact, successful in her each and every endeavor. Now also known for TV commercials such as Smith’s Chips alongside actor Steven Curry, and the Mack Boots series online, as well as breaking into the Asian market, it is amazing Somerfield has time for anything other than work. To Somerfield however, this is much more to her than work, this is her life, “…modeling is something I am very passionate about and I love doing…I take it very seriously.” This professional, motivated and passionate attitude is what sets this model apart from the rest. It shows integrity, proves dedication, and builds character. It is the beginnings of a story that is itching to be told. It is Renee Somerfield, a name to remember.
