Jesinta? Is that even a real name? It sounds like her parents couldn't make their minds up on calling her either Jessica or Jacinta. What is it with all these gen-Y girls popping up all over the place with the first half of one name & the second half of another? It just seems so..... suspiciously..... bogan...

A bit like when you see a Caitlin, spelled with four Y's and a silent Q. I agree... surely they are going to spend their whole life correcting their name when everyone spells it wrong!

The infection seems to have crossed the pond & infected America as well. There was a crappy US programme on GO! that had a bunch of spoilt pretentious gen-Y bitchy little drama queens all looking for their fifteen minutes of fame with utterly stupid crossover names like Shawnanda, Jentina, etc. Give your daughter a name like that, people will probably think she's an out-of-work stripper or something... I just seems really tacky to me. It sounds like a bogan perception of class & sophistication. Like a bride wanting to arrive in a hummer (with flowers & ribbons on it) on her wedding day.

I dunno what to say. I hardly call that (whatever it is) flattering.
