I think in the industry that the correct term for rip-off these days is "homage". The Stargate shows are shocking for it but when you listen to the DVD commentaries they are very open open it. In fact, in this week's episode Sheppard even said that it was just like "Alien" in the first few minutes.
I have the Atlantis season two box-set but I don't have the season three one yet. I see EzyDVD have the slimline set as being released at the end of the month so which means the box set is about to be phased out so I better pull my finger out & get it. I got burned already missing out on the season 10 box-set of SG-1. Second hand copies are already going for $200 on eBay.
I think it's trying to be more action orientated than sci-fi which is why the Elisabeth character is so wasted & the opportunity for more ship in a bottle stories (which can also save money) are pushed aside for more stories with soldiers with P-90s at that local nature reserve they always use.
I see EzyDVD have released the 4th season slimline pack before the box-set. Weird that, isn't it?
And I see on the packaging that Mandy Tapping is doing the Michael Dorn thing of joining the spin-off series halfway through. I quite like Sam but, of all the SG-1 characters, I've always found her to be the least interesting. I'm wondering if her addition is really necessary. The show's fine the way it is but if they really feel it needs to grow my thoughts haven't changed much from what I last said: Improvements
And they should NOT have bumped off poor Carson! That was just nasty!
Has anyone heard any whispers about the next series appearing on the tellybox? I know Channel Johanna treat it like shit but at least they put it on with some relative consistency...
What's wrong with the Americans? They have so many attractive actresses in Hollywood and what do they do? Put them into an damn dark eps of Stargate: Atlantis. :wall: What a thrill. Can please someone turn on the lights? I almost finished the "uncut" HD-version of Masters of Horror - Haeckels Tale" with Leela Savasta (Yeah, THAT one! ), when i saw her on SG: Atlantis. First i didn't recognized her with all the clothes on but then... ;) :D
"Whispers" of SG: Atlantis has an very nice female cast. Well, Christina Cox (Defying Gravity), Nicole De Boer (Star Trek: DS 9), Janina Gavankar (Dollhouse, Eps: Epitaph One) and Leela Savasta (Masters of Horror). It's a shame that she got killed so fast. It's like she was wearing the "red uniform" like in Star Trek. ;) I just love chicks in uniforms.
K, this is NOT the stuff of the past week but from the last months. It's more or less a "collection" because i've several projects running... I just "redid" some of my old colls of "Stargate: Atlantis" after i got some Eps in HD. It's a much better quality to work with, imo. I hope you like them.
Lets start with season 4. - Eps 05 - Travelers: Jill Wagner as the major bitch "Larrin". Damn, this chick is sooo hot. Maybe that's the reason why she got the biggest part in this post. I love women with BIG guns.
- Eps 11 - Be All My Sins Remember'd: "Larrin" returns and she brings cutie Michelle Morgan aka F.R.A.N. (Friendly Replicator ANdroid) with her.
- Eps 15 - Outcast: Another "Replicator" on Stargate: Atlanits. This time played by cute Emma Lahana best known from "Power Rangers DinoThunder" ( Yeah, i'm old but my niece told me... ) I would've loved see her char return to the SG-Center. Another guest was Kari Wuhrer as Sheppards ex-wife.
Season 5. - Eps 05 - Ghost in the Machine: Michelle Morgan returns this time as "Dr. Elizabeth Weir".
- Eps 18 - Identity: Another guest-hottie on Atlantis was Dawn Olivieri. She's a total newbie to me but i heard that she was on Heroes but since i lost interest in that show i don't what she's doing there... She looked great in those Atlantis-uniforms and Jewel looked great in her clothes, too.
My fav eps of the 1st season of SG: Atlantis. A beautiful "ancient" woman and a little love story. (Dr. Rodney McKay: Oh my god, he is Kirk! ) Leonor looked great here. They should've expand this storyline because Sheppard promised at the end of the eps that he will visit her again. Maybe she could've helped the Atlantis-team with her knowledge?
