This is a brand new Canadian series that I'm sure will be picked up here. I'm sure our torrent fiends already know all about it. It stars Amanda Tapping (who is also a producer) & made by some of the Stargate SG-1 mob. It seems to have elements of Heroes & the X-Men. looks good. Unfortunately whichever commercial station picks it up will screen it for 2 weeks at 9.30pm, bump it to 10.30pm on a different night(without telling anyone) for 1 episode, bump it again for a repeat of 'Porkys 17', have it return at 11.30pm for 3 episodes (all out of sequence) before declaring it does not rate, and will return "sometime over summer"

tv-links.co.cc have got the first series episodes to watch on-line if anyone's interested.
I've started watching the pilot. Oh, yes, this looks good...

So FoxTel have grabbed this one then have they? Bloody leeches! Commercial television is run by idiots! I've seen the first few episodes on that Intermernet thingamajig that the kids these days are always on about. It's kind of like a slow boil; takes a while to get going but a good little show when it starts kicking along!

I did have a slight cringe now & again when Mandy made an error in her pronunciation where the accent is concerned (we Thespians do that time to time) but overall it's pretty good fun to watch!

Well, I see it's coming out on DVD so I guess that means we're not going to see it FTA on the tellybox. Pity, I watched the eps on the 'net & quite enjoyed them... Sanctuary

Yeah, I don't think Amanda looks completely comfortable in that role & perhaps a younger (i.e. 30ish) bona fide English brunette would've been a better fit but the programme is produced by her Stargate franchise mates who probably thought her popularity would help the programme's success.
Her hair looks very obviously dyed & unnatural, she's about a decade older looking than the character is meant to be her English accent tends to be inconsistent at times (eg: emphasising the wrong syllable & various other North American cadences). Doing what I do has made me a bit of a pedant when it comes to accents. However, all that aside, I do think her performance is strong enough to play the lead & help carry the series.
I like the programme but I would like to see more involved story arcs to build up the intrigue & mythology...
