hors sujet excuses

It has been good however revisiting her old school Neighbours stuff the last few weeks, most of mine in that era was lost in hard drive failures. Hopefully this new movie puts out some publicity so we do not get so off topic again

Writer/Director James DeMonaco’s Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes-produced The Purge (formerly Vigilandia), starring Ethan Hawke, Lena Headey, Max Burkholder, Adelaide Kane, Edwin Hodge, Tony Oller and Rhys Wakefield, hits theaters on June 7th. That’s way closer than you think and the TV campaign for the film has already begun. Can’t wait to see this one!

“In an America wracked by crime, the government has sanctioned an annual 12-hour period in which any and all criminal activity—including murder—is legal. The police can’t be called. Hospitals suspend help. It is one night when the citizenry regulates itself without thought of punishment. On this night plagued by violence and an epidemic of crime, one family wrestles with the decision of who they will become when a stranger comes knocking.”

Directed by James DeMonaco (writer of Assault on Precinct 13 and The Negotiator), The Purge is produced by Jason Blum of Blumhouse (Paranormal Activity, Insidious, Sinister), Platinum Dunes’ partners Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form (The Amityville Horror, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre), as well as Sébastien Kurt Lemercier (Assault on Precinct 13

Queen Adelaide to Reign

After being plucked from obscurity at just 15, Perth actress Adelaide Kane looks set to conquer Hollywood.

Her new big-budget TV show has been picked up by a leading US TV network to screen later this year.

Now 22, Claremont-raised Kane is to star as Mary Queen of Scots in drama series Reign, which producers promise will be like "Game of Thrones meets Marie Antoinette".

Filmed predominately in Canada, Reign is a sexy and fresh dramatisation of Mary Queen of Scots' rise to power in the 16th century French court, with its pilot directed by Brad Silberling (Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events).

"It's Game of Thrones meets Marie Antoinette - if she had a girl posse and was coming of age as a warrior queen," a spokesman for the Columbia Warner (CW) network, which is making Reign, said.

"The show details the secret history of Mary's survival at the French court amid fierce foes, dark forces and a world of sexual intrigue.

"It chronicles her rise to power from when she arrives in France as a 15-year-old with her three friends as ladies-in-waiting."
The CW network has been behind some of the most popular teen-orientated series in recent years such as The Vampire Diaries, Arrow, Beauty and the Beast, America's Next Top Model, Hart of Dixie and Gossip Girl, which propelled its star Blake Lively to fame.

Kane was discovered at 15 through a Dolly magazine search in 2006 for two teenagers to win a three-month role on Neighbours. After beating more than 7000 wannabes, Kane landed the part of Lou Carpenter's adopted daughter Louise who left Ramsay Street as a child.

"Everyone was so nervous, they were just scared witless," Kane said in 2007 of winning the role on Neighbours.

"When they had called out Sam Clark (who played Ringo Brown aka Rick Yates) and my names, we held on to each other and I could feel him shaking and that's when I noticed I was shaking."

The former St Hilda's Anglican School for Girls student's contract on the long-running soap was extended for four months.

She was also nominated for a Logie for Best New Female talent, but she was beaten by Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin's daughter Bindi.

Since leaving Ramsay Street for the bright lights of Hollywood, Kane has signed with William Morris, the biggest talent agency in the world; secured a number of high-profile film and TV roles, such as on MTV's Teen Wolf; and landed herself a celebrity boyfriend (Revenge's Connor Paolo).

During a rare visit home last year, she said it had been a tough couple of years trying to make a name for herself in Los Angeles.

"It's been interesting, definitely a learning process," she said.

"LA is exactly what you imagine it to be and not what you imagine at all.

"It can be a strange and lonely place but I have a boyfriend and a group of friends who are really enthusiastic and not jaded by the business.

"You've got something to prove if you are from Australia.
"Australians have quite a good reputation as great actors and hard workers, so there are a lot of expectations and you have to live up to it."

She's not the only Aussie actress to gain a lead role in a new US show this year.
