We have just migrated our hosting from Netherlands to Singapore. Provider is the same as before so we should receive same reliable service but now the server is geographically located a lot closer to Australia, which should provide significantly better experience for most members. Latency has dropped from 350ms to 150ms to east coast and 50ms to west coast. So response times are a lot better, as is the download speed. Cost has gone up slightly but for what we get, it's worth it.

Let us know below if you notice any issues that may have been missed during migration.

Post subject:  Scheduled Maintenance 1st March

For those one or five that do not read the new site header...

Scheduled maintenance on Wednesday, 1st March 2017 from 7:30pm AEST / 4:30 WAST
We have to perform urgent server maintenance to replace a failing hard drive. If all goes well, we should be back within couple of hours. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

That has gone as well as one could hope. Server performance might be a bit sluggish while hard drive RAID array is being rebuilt in the background, it should take no more than a few hours.

Server was shut down by the hosting provider for couple of hours this afternoon due to their abuse notification going into my spam folder. It was related to a random model in Old Inside Sports thread (Alison Morse). Please refrain from reposting those images if you have them.

You have to love it when the hosting provider guarantees 99.99 uptime but then powers the server off for no particular reason in the middle of the night. And then it takes hours to turn it back on again.

Apologies to all about the unscheduled downtime this morning.

For the last 24 hours or so we have been targets of a DDOS attack. This is a very specific type of attack and is not accidental - there must be something on these forums that someone really wants to stop being shared. There have been abuse reports made to hosting provider asking for the server to be shut down, then the attacks started. As of now, we still don't know who or why is doing it.

We were forced to shut the server down for about 9 hours to stop excessive traffic jacking the hosting bills up. It's back to normal for now but we'll see if they come back in which case we may be forced to shut things down again for a little while. Long term, if attacks continue, we will have to re-evaluate things and see what changes would need to be made to hosting and if they are financially viable.

Don't tell me it's RustyFail???

We got rid of the Rachael Neiberding thread, who's want to get rid of us???

Do Rebecca Maddern or Sam Chiari have friends in high places?

Well, well, well. What can I say? All the trouble was caused by someone getting upset over the Sam Chiari thread.

At least Novak Djokovic didn't get to play in the Australian Open.

Nobody ever says anything bad about Jayde Cotic.
