Post subject:  Server migration - Dec 2013

Overnight we've officially migrated from our US based hosting provider to a European one. There are many reasons for it, main one being to get away from US based hosters who are required by law to act on DMCA takedown notices. While we didn't have a problem with getting notified in good time to remove copyrighted images, we were never informed in time and they would just shut the service down due to "non-compliance".

We've also grown up and now have a dedicated server all of our own  This should provide a more consistent and stable performance then before, and much more storage space for growth. Downside of course is greater costs... We don't want to use advertising to raise money as advertisers can then dictate what kind of content members can upload. Our preferred method would be donations by members so we would like to see how that would be received by the community. I've added a poll to see if and how much you could donate. Your input would be appreciated.

Of course, if you notice any issues following this migration, let us know.

Yes - I would consider donating if I get some perks in return
Everyone has free access to everything, the only reason for people to bother to sign up is to be able to comment, and use the Thanks button.
I can't imagine what on earth such perks would be?

If we go down this path, I was thinking perks could be as follows:

1) Do not show donation message for a period of time
2) Allow downloading of all post images as one zip file for a period of time
3) List of all "naughty" images in one place for a period of time

Period would vary depending on donation of course... This approach would provide incentive to donate but for those who can't / won't, they still have access to all site images, just not as conveniently.

To those who have voted already, thank you. I would also urge all others to vote, your feedback is very valuable. Voting is anonymous of course...

1) Is logical, I wouldn't want to be constantly reminded to donate if I already had.
2) No interest for me, I don't collect the caps posted.
3) What naughty images? the rules prevent us from posting anything more than tame stuff!

But rest assured, I will donate regularly when the opportunity arises, and would encourage all who love this site to help out too.

2) Many do though... I for one have my favourite celebs and save all their images uploaded here. It would be much easier if I can do it in one file rather than one by one

3) By "naughty", I mean topless etc., the stuff that is allowed. Our adult post marking feature keeps track of all such posts and this would allow us to show them all in one place for those who donate
