Any estimate for how long before we can set our user preferences, to see the thumbs in their correct chronological order?

ASAP, I originaly wanted to do it yesterday but I had plenty of minor issues implementing the new thumbnails, so it will have to wait a little longer.

Another thing I've only just noticed, and bugger me why I haven't noticed before... SIGs don't appear anymore?

whats happened with the photos and thumbnails,i use bulk image downloader to down load the photos off here and its now not working its not picking up the photos on the forum to download, i emailed bid and this is what they told me.

Thanks for the email.

It looks like the forum is using a non-standard method to display
thumbnails. Support for this will be added in the next update.

Kind Regards
Dominic

Well, yes. We use custom made filesystem that allows us to provide some advanced features like statistical data. Our top members have an option to view only plain pictures, but that is an advanced feature, which is not (and will not be) available for everyone. The reason is that the picture displaying page also displays ads, which financially keep this place going.

Sure, get to the first page of this list and you'll get VIP treatment. I understand some members (like eldiablo), who don't use our native uploader are disadvantaged by our ranking system, but AFAIK it was the best achievable compromise when we were making the decision years ago.

Why does this forum get attacked by spammers so much and how come so many get through before they're removed?

I have been on a lot of boards and forums over the years and have run a couple myself, SMF, but none have had the spammer problem this one seems to constantly have.

We've taken multiple steps to stop the spammers already - from recaptcha to banning whole countries' IP ranges. I even removed signatures and website fields. All this helped to stop automated spam posts, but our problem are people willing to take the time and manually spam the board, which is something very difficult to tackle without stressing legitimate members. I wanted to aviod that, but we will probably have to introduce some limits on new members, like banning links in first several posts.

The file selection screen is provided by the OS, so I can only suggest restarting the browser/OS...

Thanks for the explanation.

Can't believe they are going to such efforts to manually spam, which can only ever garner a few views for all that effort.
