The problem was in: Quote: Common word threshold: Words which are contained in a greater percentage of all posts will be regarded as common. Common words are ignored in search queries. Set to zero to disable. Only takes effect if there are more than 100 posts. If you want words that are currently regarded as common to be reconsidered you have to recreate the index. which was set to 5%, so most commonly searched celeb names are now prolly ignored in searching = my god Never mind, I've disabled it now, but because those threads are not indexed, I'll have to recreate the whole searching index, which I'll rather do later 2day when you have late night there in oz... Thanx for the info btw: I prolly wouldn't find that out if someone didn't tell me...

Your browser can block them via some ad-removing add-on or something - not recommended on this forum No, here's a screencap of original page state. Could you pls post yours with info bout your OS & browser version for me to check if it's not some sort of bug? thnx EDIT: yes and you need javascript enabled to see them 2

I have Win XP Pro, browser is Firefox 3.0.14 with the Adblock plus addon, among others. I'm surprised when I find out ads are there, I was at a friends place last week and he logged into Facebook to show me something, and I was surprised at the ads everywhere because I'd never seen them before, same when people show me other sites too, I'm always surprised at all the ads because I'm not used to seeing them. I don't have any problems with the forum, all works ok.

Not very happy to see such adblocking add-ons installed on members' PCs... Come on czblack, find some good reason NOT to instal such add-ons, quickly, come on! You're gonna die from hunger Yeah here's one... So you shouldn't install them because they can block non-ad content as well Well, never mind... :-)

reposted from Phoebe T thread Hm... I didn't have any other such problems reported so far and the forum works fine to me too. Anyone else can confirm this?
