Is that Gillian Anderson in the middle? She just keeps getting more & more spankable, doesn't she? Yet another programme/film that made her dye her hair red (again). I was hoping she'd be slipping back into a catsuit for the Rani.

Skaven all three shots are of new companion piece Karen Gillan. In the words of the great Homer Simpson "yum yum yum yum, yum yum yum yum."

Ahh! When I saw the Karen-Gillian-Pond file name I got my hopes up. Maybe that means that we still may in fact see Gilly back in the catsuit...

Looks like we're going to have a real sexpot Rani!

New Series of Doctor Who To Consist Entirely of Trailers.

Stephen Moffat, head writer and Executive Producer of the next series of Dr Who has announced that the next series of Dr Who will consist entirely of two minute trailers with no actual programmes to be broadcast.

Explaining his surprising decision, Stephen said today 'I had planned to sit down and write 13 action packed episodes for Matt Smith to display the full range of his acting talent. However, after hearing that people had already made their mind up about Matt Smith after just seeing a 30 second shot of him, I thought, why bother? Instead I've just put together a few random images and let the fans make up their idea of what the story is.'

Continuing to drone him, Moffat remarked 'I had written a line for the last two parter in the series which went 'Her??? How could she be back???' and was struggled to work out who 'she' was. Then, I decided that since nothing I came up with could be as good as what the fans had already speculated about on discussion boards, it was easier not to bother and just go and discuss lesbian porn with my mates'

Commenting on this move, Russell T Davies said 'Corr! He's a canny bugger that Moffat. When I wrote the episode 'The Doctor's Daughter', there was all kinds of speculation on the boards about the Doctor's family and what light this was shining on previous unrevealed aspects of his family relationships. Then, when it turned out in the episode that she was just a clone, everyone got all huffy. God, I shouldn't have bothered making the bloody thing and just left it at that title.'

The traditional Christmas Doctor Who episode will still be broadcast however. Said Stephen, 'Them Christmas specials is piss simple innit. All I have do is cut together a few unrelated scenes and special effects and get a guest star and I'm laughing. Everyone will be too bloated on sprouts and port to notice the lack of plot - all they'll do is point at the screen and go 'Matt Lucas LOL!' "

Seeing the first two episodes of the current series has confirmed something I have already know for some time (& mentioned already in this thread); Steven Moffat is a freaking genius! Easily one of my favourite scriptwriters & storytellers.

I'm not overly keen on the new opening credits theme but. It's kind of getting away from what's great about the original theme & going off on a bit of a tangent (like JNT unsuccessfully tried to do in the eighties).

I think the new credits look & sound a bit "kiddyish" but all hail Steven Moffat!
He has a real flair for creating creepiness.

My favourite companions are Ian, Jamie, Sarah Jane, Harry & (from the new series) Donna. My worst one of all time is Mel!!!

Pffft...it's not the same! It may be better than what we had under that Rancid Toad Droppings person but I would still take it or leave it at best.
