 My VPN trial

Interesting.

When I visit that site I get "Scaneye does not track IP addresses from this country" (meaning Australia - as I have a Melbourne IP assigned through the VPN).

Has your new ISP assigned you a static IP?

Has your new ISP assigned you a static IP?

Same ISP, just a new IP with the NBN.
Maybe they recognised your vpn assigned IP.

My test was done with my vpn turned off, and done with my normal connection and real IP, which is what I was checking, the history of my real IP

COUNTRY : Australia
CITY : Sydney
Organization : Exetel

Luckily with my ISP I can change my IP any time I want, but a new one might have an even worse history...

Well, I'm now on my third VPN.
Started with Tunnelbear, but it disconnected so much I got pissed off and left.
Moved on to Zenmate, which is ok, but, it stops Usenet and Torrents dead in their tracks betweem around 4pm - 11pm, so started looking around for another vpn.

Am now with ExpressVPN, mainly because it has Aussie servers, but I also checked vpn review sites and it rates well.
So, have been with ExpressVPN for a couple of weeks now, and couldn't be happier. it connects with very few problems, is the fastest vpn I've used, and doesn't appear to throttle anything at any time.
I have it set up so it's ON all the time from booting up the PC, so absolutely everything I do online is through the vpn.
And having Aussie servers means I can do anything, like Gmail without appearing to be from another country and raise Googles security suspicions about where I'm logging in from.

So far, really good! looks like I've found the one to stay with...

Been thinking of getting a VPN?
Now might be the right time, Australia's mandatory data retention scheme came into effect a few days ago...

I'm now with PIA - Private Internet Access.
https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/
$6.95 a month, or only $3.33 a month with a 12 month payment.
Two Aussie servers, Sydney and Melbourne.
Very torrent friendly, has a VPN killswitch, which means if you lose the VPN connection your internet connection is blocked, so if your torrenting your IP isn't exposed, great safety feature.

VPN doesn't slow down my connection, 1st image is through my ISP, 2nd image is through PIA VPN

I've just renewed my PIA subscription. (into my second year now)

I've found the security is excellent, the price is right, and even when I get "slow times" I can still stream HD video.
When I do experience slow speeds it is rarely due to the VPN; it's either my service provider or slow international links.

I'm very happy with the PIA service, and I'd be happy to recommend them to anyone thinking about a VPN.
