Just wondering who's in one, what they get, what they pay & what they think.

Depends - if it's a two device deal (phone and tablet) with shared data - no way. Rather go separate.

I'm on the $129 Ultimate plan with Telstra and I'm quite happy. Comes with 3GB and I've rarely gone near breaking it. Only issues is coverage at Uni and Hunter Stadium, but that's not entirely Telstra's fault. My Dell Streak is on Optus pre-paid, and I also have Vodafone mobile broadband, which is close to expiration and considering my options. Only stayed because I'm with the NRMA and I do get a discount, but the 7GB plan I am is becoming a bit small for my needs.

I currently have a home internet plan with Adam which gives me 100G per month (i.e. 50 peak & 50 off peak) for $60.

The reason I ask is that I don't own a mobile phone but have been thinking of procuring one. I've never owned one, have no idea what I want, but am wondering if it's better to get a new separate mobile plan or go for something that is combined with internet usage.

Finding out what other people do might give me some ideas...

Get a separate one. If you're happy with Adam, stay with them and shop around for the mobile. They all want your business, so haggle 'til your mouth bleeds. Make 'em work for it.

Have a look at http://www.iinet.net.au/index.html Skavy . Been with them for nearly 7 Years now (internet only) without any hassles and good support.

Thanks, Narlz. $60 p/month for 100G is the same as what I pay now with Adam they're really nice & local (King William Street). Unfortunately, they do sponsor Port Power but, other than that, they're pretty good.

I gotta say, I'm loving my Optus connection at the moment.

With unlimited phone calls within Australia, and 300GB cap, all for $85.20 per month. :cheerstothat:

Unfortunately, not all of us are that lucky - I don't get any HFC cable anywhere near my house. This is all I can get, absolutely pathetic and sad.
