Hi Everyone,
i celebrated my 25th Birthday last Saturday. I got a Sony Ereader. (from all remarks, heaps better than the similarly priced kindle) I shopped at Borders, and downloaded some Ebooks, which i needed a Adobe ID for. (for DRM).
My question os, is there anyway of backing up my downloads? The manual says it can only copy non-DRM Ebooks to the microSD card (obviously to combat piracy).
I do reformat my pc every now and again, so i don't want to lose my library:)
Also anyone recommend any good books? i like humour, mystery, true crime and Biographies.

Call me old fashioned but I still prefer to read books printed on paper. Lying on the couch and turning pages in a book is more relaxing than reading words on a screen.

I use Calibre software http://calibre-ebook.com/ (open source) It allows you to do much more than any other software out there.

Calibre and a Sony PRS-T1.
I was a prolific reader in my youth and early adulthood but tapered off over the years. The eReader has me reading as much as I ever did. I really like them and their convenience, especially since I travel a lot and it saves me carting books around in my carry on baggage.

Thanks for the replies. I don't really need to strip the DRM out of them, i just want to be able to back them up to a DVD or a external HDD. Just downloaded Adobe Digital Editions. It saves them to a library, and now i can see the e books, so i can back them up.
I too do enjoy reading, and i do like the tangible aspect of a book. The E reader does have its place, i can take it to work, and read it on my lunch break its also thinner than most books. Modecko, i also have a Sony PRS-T1 (wifi version). From what i have seen online, it does a lot better than the cheap kindle.
Thanks for the advice..Anyone know of any recommendations for books?
I like true crime, autobiographies, mystery's and humor mainly.
