Has anyone received a telephone call asking if you want information to invest money and make a lot in a short time? They do this to gain your personal information slowly getting more and more info about you and how much you might have in the bank. They tried it on me last night and failed miserably.

If anyone rings you asking this, they will be clever and ask a few questions to confirm who you are and later if you want to receive the information by mail. Then they ask if you can afford the outlay of $10,000.

Do this,

1. Say yes to receive the information pack.
2. If they want to confirm your address, give a dodgey address.
3. When they ask if you can afford the outlay of $10ks or whatever it is - say no, not right now and make an excuse.

They will then hang up without saying a thing more.

DO NOT give out any personal information and always be suspect about annonymous calls.

I totally agree, its all about commen sense.

usually with a charity, prize home, car etc in our family we usually buy a ticket in person or ask for a mail out.

i can't believe people fall for those "419" scams etc and some of the people that fall for them arn't dumb!

We always don't do it over the phone, for the fact that you can't be sure of who your dealing with.

then today tonight or a current affair make a whole program out of it......
