If Rudd actually grew a pair neither Howard nor a lot of other people would have had a chance to throw pennies in.....

Rudd has handled the whole thing badly but I'd be interested to know exactly what you wanted Rudd to do crashdown?

treating australians with contempt. were too easy, these people and their support network are going to undermine the fabric of our society if they havent done already, its why oz has become so violent and so labor cheap and corrupt.

You'd like to know what I'd see done but a long time politician speaks up and you complain? I'm happy to sit back and continue to watch captain nutbag and his looney brigade continue to shrug shoulders. Since Smith is in Sri Lanka perhaps we can work out a trade; we'll take the boat if they keep him! We can get Swan, Dullard, Garrett and Wong over their in no time as well if an offer is made (it's likely Rudd's on one of his offshore days already).

Seeking asylum in Australia via Indonesia, f*cking joke to start with!

Yes live ammunition would surely have an inspirational effect

Seems silly that after all this they've decided to just let these asylum seekers come in anyway-soooo weak Rudd govt. Really now they have no reason to stop another 5millions come on in.

Also this environmental carryon [ets], basically as environmental a nazi as i can be, this is so obviously a con. Australia's carbon impost is not going to make the slightest difference when contrasted against northern hemisphere countries. Silly.

If Rudd really wanted to do somethin for the environment, he'd initiate a $3 billion plan for making australia's research and development related to green technology's the most advanced in the world and give australia a foothold into the 21st century and beyond.

-Instead of just remaining a vacuous mining country. Where only the few benefit.
Also fix the murray-darling and regenerate bush where farmers have done so much damage by this chronic denuding of trees.

And all guillard has given us is a website as her great 'education revolution'. Dish bit of money out to variuos schools with which to enlarge class rooms etc.
Whatabout smaller class sizes????????

If labor arent careful only legacy they gunna be recognized for is words- like 'sorry'. Nothing more significant than that.

The opposition will use that against them forever and a day.

gregorius I'm glad someone else see the bullshit of Krudd, his envirnonmenalism and the rest of his bullshit policies!

If he wanted to cut down on carbon emmissions surely putting a halt on jet setting would be a start. Eliminating all those V8 statesmen cars would also help. His whole cabinet holding breath would benefit everyone!

He'll likely be remembered for the huge financial black hole created.......... Just like the previous Naz... I mean Labor camp

Boat intercepted off NT coast carrying 33 people
ANOTHER boat carrying suspected asylum seekers has been intercepted off Australia's north coast, making it the 60th arrival this year.

The stationary vessel was spotted sometime before 7.30am (AEDT) this morning about 140 nautical miles (260 km) north of Gove, in the Northern Territory, said Home Affairs Minister Brendan O'Connor.

When Border Protection Command crew went to the boat, the passengers said they wished to come to Australia.

The 30 passengers and three crew members will be taken to Christmas Island to be processed.

I wonder if Rudd (better known as the minister for transport) gets a set of steak knives for hitting 60? Why even have boarder patrol boats when their only job is to escort whoever wants a free bed to Christmas Island?

New asylum boatload may fill centre
AUTHORITIES have intercepted a suspected asylum seeker boat in waters off Australia's northwest coast.

The boat was intercepted by HMAS Armidale at 11am (AEDT) today about 11 nautical miles (20km) north of the Ashmore Islands, the federal government said.

Initial indications suggest 89 passengers and four crew were on board the vessel.

The group will be transferred to Christmas Island where they will undergo security, identity and health checks and their reasons for travel will be established.

It is the 10th illegal entry vessel to be intercepted in Australian waters this year.

The Rudd Government is under pressure over its border protection regime with detention facilities on Christmas Island at breaking point.

There are already almost 1800 detainees in immigration facilities on the island which have a capacity of 1900.

Do the Krudites have any suggestions at this point or like the administration will they simply distance themselves whenever a problem arises??
